The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer SSC947, affectionately dubbed the “Pogue,” is a modern tribute to the iconic Seiko 6139-6002 chronograph worn by astronaut Colonel William Pogue during the 1973 Skylab 4 mission—the first automatic chronograph in space. This contemporary reinterpretation captures the vibrant aesthetic of the original with a striking yellow sunburst dial, complemented by a red and blue “Pepsi” tachymeter bezel and contrasting brown subdials. Modern solar-powered technology and Seiko’s historic chronograph legacy are combined in the Seiko Solar Speedtimer series.
